Hello, artists! Thank you so much for joining our budding community.

My name is Lo, I'm one of the mods here. I'm a junior in college studying painting/illustration. You can read my about in the introduction thread if you want to, but first I wanted to take the time to introduce you to this community as a whole and my vision of what it could become.

Growing as an artist can be a lonely, frustrating process--if you agree with this, you're definitely not alone. Those who seek creative outlets do so because it gives them a satisfying feeling of connecting or responding to the world around them. However, it can also be hard to motivate yourself to practice, experiment, and in general, keep trying, without like-minded people around to receive your work and support you. Social media such as instagram, tumblr, and twitter allow us new spaces to post our art and find popular artists, but there aren't a lot of networks that exist to easily connect us together. The Nervous System is intended to be a new, inclusive type of community for artists to see each other's work and network. This is somewhere we can share tips, post sketchbook pages, WIP projects, share our art and tips, receive feedback, host live chats and competitions, and generally just make friends and make art fun again.

All skill levels are welcome! All mediums (whether traditional or digital) are welcome.

A few rules!
_ This community is intended for ages 16+.
_ Please be respectful of others and their work.
_ Don't reveal personal information (such as your full name, facebook, residence, place of employment, etc.)
_ No hate speech, symbols, discrimination, harassment, or fights will be tolerated.

I'll be making adjustments quite a bit in the beginning, so if it looks sloppy or things change a lot, please bear with us! If anyone has problems navigating the website, attaching photos to your posts, or with anything else, just message me. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about any of this, post it below. After that, I encourage anyone to post an about me page in the introductions board. You can customize it and make it as long or short as you want.

Oh, one thing... do people like the name? I can always change it. I thought it was cool but maybe it's not universally art related.

Honestly i'm so fucking happy to be invited in this community, cause doing art without supportive groups is always difficult expecially when you are out of creative places like school or studios, i'm very positive about the project and i personally love the title <3

Yes im so excited! Also i think the name is pretty cute.
